The Visual Arts program at Liwara offers our students a variety of stimulating, creative, fun and engaging activities. Students from Pre Primary to Year Six are given opportunities to create and express their ideas through a variety of art forms and design and explore their own artistic choices when completing artworks. Students develop skills, techniques and processes and use a variety of materials as they explore and experiment with different genres. They have the opportunity to respond to artworks and reflect upon their own work. Throughout the year different year levels are entered into a variety of Art competitions available to primary school students.

Visual Arts take place weekly for students from Pre-Primary to Year Six for a period of fifty minutes in our purpose built Art room. The visual arts activities stimulate creativity, fun and engagement in a variety of activities. They are exposed to techniques from artists and cultures from the past and present, and have the opportunity to replicate their artworks.

The students’ work is displayed for the school community to view in the Art room at all times and samples are on display in the school office. It is then displayed in their classrooms and at our annual Learning Journey evening where parents, friends and families have the opportunity to view completed artworks.
