Prayer for First Holy Communion Candidates

Lord, give us the wisdom and the courage to help our children as you would
to develop in them a Christ-like love for all people
To nurture in them a desire to give and not simply to take to teach them to be doers of Your Holy Word.
Guide us in our parental responsibilities strengthen our love as a family
so that we may work together in coming closer to You.
May we be the expression of Your love to our children
so that each day will be as today
Your love received and shared
to help us be one in the Body of Christ.

Amen

Dear Parents and Caregivers

We are thrilled to share the incredible progress our students have made this term. Their dedication and hard work have been truly inspiring, and this is confirmed as I read through the informative reports comments which fill me with immense pride. Many students have shown remarkable improvement in their achievements, demonstrating a strong commitment to their studies.

Artist and Murals in the school

Transforming Our School with Art!  I am delighted to announce that we have a talented local mural artist Tay of Meraki Boho fame working with us to transform some of our school spaces into vibrant works of art! These exciting projects aim to turn ordinary areas into extraordinary visual experiences, sparking creativity and joy in our students.  Stay tuned for updates and photos of the progress.  We can’t wait to see the amazing transformations.

CANTEEN NEWS

Next Friday, 20 June, is the Interschool Cross Country event, and a reminder that if your child has been selected for this event, please do not place an on-line order due to the uncertainty of when they will return to school.

We do sincerely apologise for the milk supply, but it is out of our control as it is a supplier issue.  If we cannot fulfill your orders, then a credit or a substitution will be carried out. Thank you for your patience until we can return to normal supply.

If you receive an IOU from the canteen, these can be paid at the canteen, cash only sorry, or at the office.  If you prefer you can order the same meal on Quickcliq, but please add in the note section, a message advising that this is for an IOU only please.   If you have any outstanding IOU notes, could these please be settled before the end of term.  Thank you.

We have several Gluten Free recess items available, however these will usually need warming.  If your child requires a Gluten Free recess item, please advise us prior to school, or a note on their lunch order, so we may have this warmed and ready for them to collect at the counter.

Thank you for supporting the Liwara Canteen and again a very big thank you to our helpers that pop in to help us serve.  You are all fabulous!!

A reminder that canteen orders need to be submitted online by 9.00am.  Check out the menu at https://www.liwara.wa.edu.au/wp-content/uploads/Canteen-Menu-Updated-15-July-2024.pdf - there is something for everyone to enjoy!!

CHILDREN'S LITURGY VOLUNTEERS - PARENT HELPERS NEEDED

We're seeking parent volunteers to join our All Saints Greenwood parish children’s liturgy team! We need extra helpers to support our group leaders in supervising young children during the Sunday 9:30am Mass children’s liturgy sessions. Typically, we ask for a commitment of just one Sunday per term. Volunteers will need to secure a Working With Children check, and we’re happy to assist you with the process. If you’d like to get involved, we’d love to have you—please text Bianca at 0418 986 893 to sign up!

RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS

Are you an adult thinking about becoming a Catholic? Do you know someone else who is? Are you a baptised Catholic who would like to receive the Sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation?

All Saints Parish, Greenwood will be holding an information night on 12th June at 7.30pm.  If you are interested, come along and discover what the Church has to offer. For further information, please contact Fr Elver (0466 604754) or Juliet Southgate (0450 578679).

PARISH YOUTH MINISTRY NEWS

TUESDAY 10TH JUNE

Last week at 24:7 Greenwood, we had an incredible evening filled with games, fun, and faith! We kicked things off with a relaxed time of card and board games, allowing everyone to settle in and connect with one another. We then amped up the energy with two group favourites—Head, Shoulders, Cup and Empires—which brought out lots of laughter and friendly competition.

Our talk for the evening was delivered by one of our dedicated volunteer leaders, Patsy, who spoke beautifully about finding freedom in Christ through prayer. She explored the different forms that prayer can take and encouraged everyone to discover which way they connect with God most deeply.

Following the talk, we entered into a time of reflection. Each young person received their own journal to use throughout the rest of the term, highlighting how journaling can be a powerful and personal way to grow in prayer and relationship with God.

NEXT YOUTH GROUP

This coming weekend, we’re excited to invite all our youth, along with their friends and families, to our special Youth Volunteer Mass at 5:30 PM, followed by our Family Trivia Night!

This is a fantastic opportunity to bring our wider community together, celebrate our youth, and enjoy a fun night of trivia, laughter, and connection. Don’t miss it!

God bless,

Jesse and Lucy
