Kambarang Prayer
Loving God,
As we begin this new term,
we give thanks for the beauty and new life of Kambarang.
Thank you for every child entrusted to our care
and for the privilege of helping them grow.
Give us patience for those who need more time,
wisdom to recognise what each person needs,
and generosity to encourage the gifts we see in one another
When the term becomes busy, give us perspective.
When we are tired, renew us.
When there is joy, help us pause and celebrate.
May we plant with hope, nurture with love,
and trust You with the growth.
Bless our children, our families and our staff,
as we journey together through this final term.
Amen

FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents and Caregivers
Welcome back
I hope you had some opportunities to break routine and relax over the school holidays. These resets, when we spend time with family and friends, are important for our well-being and give us the energy and enthusiasm to start the busy Term 4 ahead. We need to focus on this term, rather than rushing ahead to 2027. Students can become anxious if adults focus on the change and transition to the next year level sooner than necessary. As a community, let’s all enjoy all the wonderful moments that Term 4 has to offer. We wish our Year 6 students all the very best as they embark on their last term with us at Liwara.
Catholic Identity
Sacramental Programme
Our sacramental programme for this year is now complete. I wish to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to Gill, our parish sacramental coordinator, Angela Leddin and Stef Neri for their coordination and the teachers in Year Three (Mrs Weston, Mrs Rattray and Mrs Beckett), Year Four (Mrs Swift and Miss Cvetkovski) and Year Six (Mrs McCabe and Mr Vine) for their time and commitment to supporting our students in their faith journey.
Opening Term Mass
Our Opening Term Mass was a lovely celebration to start Term Four. Thank-you to the families who attended, Remy McGavigan for preparing the Mass, our musicians and choir and all those who participated.
Education Pillar
Professional Development Day
Staff worked together on Monday to review progress toward our 2026 school improvement goals and begin planning for 2027. Staff also analysed our school data to inform future directions. The final session was led by Clare Thompson, CEWA Behaviour Consultant, on Collaborative Proactive Solutions. The learnings drew from research and moved from the broad Why? through to practical strategies (When and How?), whilst linking with our Levels of Behaviour framework.
Community Pillar
P and F Disco
Our students are excited to attend the P and F Disco this evening. Thank-you to Linda for leading this event and to all the volunteers who have signed up to assist.
Small Scale Electoral Commitment Grant
Andrea Millar successfully secured a grant last year for the hall air conditioning and mural artwork. Additional funds were available for artwork, which we recently spent on Values Totem Artwork. We installed the first set near the top access road entry. A second set has arrived and will be installed at the front of the school soon. We thank the WA Government for their support through this grant.

Staffing News
Jane Evans, our social worker, is currently on long-term leave and has confirmed she will resign at the end of the school year to continue supporting her family. Jane has supported the staff, students and families of Liwara for 11 years. We keep Jane and her family in our prayers.
Baby News
Congratulations to Sabrina Lecase (OSHC Manager) and her partner on expecting their first baby. We wish them all the best as they begin this new and exciting chapter of their lives.

2027 CLASS PLACEMENT REQUESTS
This term, teachers will be compiling class groupings for 2027. Teachers consider several factors when placing students in classes. The children’s best interests in our educational setting are the main priority. Students also get the opportunity to list classmates they work well with and would like to have in their class. We aim to ensure that at least one child from the friendship list will be in the class for 2027.
If you have a valid class placement request (see criteria below), please complete this form: Class Placement Request - 2027. The form will be open to accept responses until Monday, 26 October. Requests cannot be made after this date. Please understand that not all requests can be accommodated.
Valid requests:
- Separating or keeping twins together.
- Providing insights into your own child’s personality or learning needs/style.
- Respectfully providing the school with insight into relationship issues a child may have with another student.
The following requests will not be considered:
- a) Requests for a particular teacher will not be considered as staffing is not finalised.
- b) Requests for a child to be in a class with a particular student will not be considered.
Please use the secure link above to the principal’s form.

We're seeking parent volunteers to join our All Saints Greenwood parish children’s liturgy team! We need extra helpers to support our group leaders in supervising young children during the Sunday 9:30am Mass children’s liturgy sessions. Typically, we ask for a commitment of just one Sunday per term. Volunteers will need to secure a Working With Children check, and we’re happy to assist you with the process. If you’d like to get involved, we’d love to have you—please text Bianca at 0418 986 893 to sign up!

The group then moved outdoors for a range of energetic activities that encouraged participation and friendly competition. The evening concluded with a shared pizza dinner, providing a relaxed opportunity for everyone to socialise and strengthen their friendships.
