End of Term Prayer
We thank you Lord, for this term.
For our challenges, our successes, and the mistakes from which we have learnt.
Be with us as we spend our time with family and friends.
Give us strength and courage to do what is right: to be witnesses of our faith.
Help us to be a practical Christian these holidays, to appreciate what others do for us, to give time and effort to help others.
To be peacemakers in our family.
Keep us safe in our activities; give us good rest and good fun.
Bring us back refreshed and ready for a new term.
We thank you for our classmates, teachers, parents and a community that cares for us.
May we always be conscious of you in our lives.
Amen

FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
We’ve had a vibrant and joyful few weeks at Liwara, filled with events that truly highlight the strength and spirit of our school community.
Father’s Day Events – A Heartwarming Success
We began our Father’s Day celebrations with a fun time on the oval with our ‘Donut and Dash’ event which brought smiles all around! Dads and kids enjoyed delicious donuts and a quick catch-up before the school day began. The laughter, connection, and joy were truly heartwarming. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the morning so special. The oval dash was followed by a beautiful prayer service, honouring the love, guidance, and strength of all fathers and father figures in our community. It was a touching moment of reflection and gratitude.
Bowls, Banter & Bonding – A Great Night Out for Our Liwara Dads Following the event at school on Thursday it is great to share that our recent Dads’ Night at the Doubleview Bowls Club was a fantastic success! It was a relaxed and enjoyable evening filled with friendly competition on the greens, great food, shared stories, and an ale or two.
Events like these are a wonderful way to strengthen the bonds within our school community, and it was great to see so many dads connecting and having fun.
A heartfelt thank you to our amazing P&F for organising this memorable event. Your continued efforts to bring our community together are truly appreciated.
Learning Journey – A Showcase of Growth
Thank you to all families who attended our Learning Journey evening. The classrooms were buzzing with excitement as students proudly shared their work and learning progress. Your engagement in your child’s education is invaluable and deeply appreciated.

Music Assembly – Bravo to Our Instrumental Students!
Congratulations to our talented instrumental music students who performed at the recent Music Assembly. Their dedication and musical growth were evident in every note. We are so proud of their achievements and grateful to our music tutors for nurturing their talents.
School Athletics Carnival – A Day of Energy and Team Spirit
Our Athletics Carnival wouldn’t be the success it is without the incredible coordination and energy of our PE teacher, Mr Sanders. Thank you for once again delivering a day full of fun, action, and smooth organisation — your hard work behind the scenes and on the field is truly appreciated. Thank you to our staff and volunteers for making the day run smoothly, and to our families for cheering from the sidelines.
I also want to extend a big congratulations to our students, who were a credit to the school with their outstanding sportsperson ship and respectful behaviour throughout the day. You represented your factions with pride, and we couldn’t be prouder!
A big shout-out to our dedicated staff who ran the Sausage Sizzle at the Athletics Carnival — once again, it was a great success! The delicious smells and sizzling sausages added to the festive atmosphere of the day.
It was a pleasure for our team to run this for our families, giving parents the freedom to relax and enjoy every moment of the carnival without missing a single race or event. Thank you to everyone who supported the stall — your smiles and enthusiasm made it all worthwhile!
Band Fusion Concert – A Celebration of Musical Collaboration
If you enjoy music then you should come along to the event next week to join our talented Liwara bands and ensembles who will be performing at the Band Fusion Concert on Tuesday 23 September. It will be a spectacular display of musical collaboration and talent. Our students will be performing alongside peers from other schools, creating a rich and inspiring musical experience. Well done to all involved! Tickets available by clicking on this link: https://events.humanitix.com/band-fusion-2025-88LQUG3H

Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community. We look forward to more exciting events ahead!

CHILDREN'S LITURGY VOLUNTEERS - PARENT HELPERS NEEDED
We're seeking parent volunteers to join our All Saints Greenwood parish children’s liturgy team! We need extra helpers to support our group leaders in supervising young children during the Sunday 9:30am Mass children’s liturgy sessions. Typically, we ask for a commitment of just one Sunday per term. Volunteers will need to secure a Working With Children check, and we’re happy to assist you with the process. If you’d like to get involved, we’d love to have you—please text Bianca at 0418 986 893 to sign up!
PARISH YOUTH MINISTRY NEWS
TUESDAY 16TH SEPTEMBER
Last week at 24:7 Greenwood, we had another amazing night filled with games, laughter, and connection! We kicked things off with some fun card games to get everyone warmed up, before jumping into our big games for the evening. The games were a huge hit and had everyone fully engaged and competitive! We wrapped up the evening with some relaxed fellowship time, giving everyone a chance to catch up and build deeper friendships.
On Saturday night, our youth group had the privilege of assisting with the Parish Quiz Night, serving in a variety of roles to help make the event run smoothly. It was a wonderful way to give back to our parish community and live out our call to serve.
NEXT YOUTH GROUP
Our next session will continue our term theme: Corporate Works of Mercy as we explore the next topic—Feed the Hungry. We’re excited to welcome a special guest speaker, who will share their personal experiences and insights about this important work of mercy. Together, we’ll reflect on how we can respond to this call in our own lives and make a meaningful difference in our community.
God bless,
Jesse and Lucy
