50 YEARS SYMBOL

     BACK TO SCHOOL PRAYER

Lord our God,
in your wisdom and love
you surround us with the mysteries of the universe.

Send your Spirit upon these students
and fill them with your wisdom and blessings.
Grant that they may
devote themselves to their studies
and draw ever closer to you,
the source of all knowledge.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen

FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Parents and Caregivers

I hope this newsletter finds you in high spirits as we kick off an incredible new school year. I extend a warm welcome to both returning and new students.  I look forward to the upcoming year and along with the rest of our staff I express my commitment to fostering a positive and enriching learning environment. The corridors and classrooms have been buzzing with energy and the air is filled with the promise of endless possibilities.

It is with immense pride and joy that I announce the commencement of our 50th anniversary year at Liwara! This incredible milestone marks five decades of dedication to education, excellence and community.  As we reflect on the past 50 years, we are filled with gratitude for the countless students, teachers, staff and parents who have been a part of our school family.  Together, we’ve built a legacy of learning, growth, and shared experiences that have shaped the fabric of Liwara Catholic Primary School.  To commemorate this golden anniversary, we are planning a series of special events throughout the year which will honour our past, celebrate our present and envision an even brighter future. More information will be communicated to our community in the next couple of weeks about anniversary events and activities.

This year, we are delighted to welcome all our  new students and families  to our school community. Our dedicated teaching staff are thrilled to embark on this educational journey with your children and they have been busy preparing engaging lessons, exciting projects and interactive activities to make learning not only educational but also enjoyable.

BOOKCLUB COORDINATOR
We are looking for someone in our school community to take over as Bookclub Coordinator, as Jen Jones who has been looking after Bookclub for a few years now, is ready to step aside and train someone new.  Jen will be available to work with the new coordinator to make sure all the necessary information is shared, and the new coordinator is confident to run it solo. If you are interested, please contact the front office who will connect you with Jen. It can also be a couple of parents who can work together  to continue the good work done by others before.

P&F MEETING
As we begin another exciting school year, we are thrilled to extend a warm invitation to all parents and guardians to join us for our first P&F Meeting.  This gathering is a wonderful opportunity for us to come together, share information, and strengthen the partnership between home and school.  As next week is a busy week with School Photos and School Tours for local families interested in finding out more about our school for future enrolments, we will be holding our first P&F Meeting in Week 3 on Tuesday 13 February instead of the regular Week 2 meeting, with the New Parents’ Sundowner following on Friday 16 February.  I encourage all parents to come along to the first P&F Meeting as your presence is highly valued and we are looking forward to an evening of camaraderie, shared visions and collaborative planning.  Together, we can make this school year truly exceptional! If you unable to attend, you can still contribute by sharing your thoughts or questions in advance.

As we embark on this new school year together, let’s celebrate the wonderful community we have and the exciting adventures that lie ahead.  Here’s to a year filled with growth, learning and unforgettable memories!

2024 MEDICAL ACTION PLANS

We still have a number of medical action plans outstanding.  If your child has a medical action plan and you have not yet supplied the office with a new plan for 2024 can you please do so immediately.     We are required to have a new plan every 12 months.

There are the standard plans for Anaphylaxis, Asthma, Allergies etc.  If your child does not fall into one of these categories you can download a copy of the schools Medical Action Plan from our website.  All plans need to be signed off by your doctor.

If your child requires medication to be taken at school, this includes - Asthma Puffers, ADHD medication etc which is prescribed by your doctor, it needs to be given to the front office in the original packaging which shows the child's name, doctor's name & the dosage.

Medications that are not prescription medicines, require parents to complete a Medication Authority Form which is available from the front office.

If you are unsure of your requirements, please contact the front office on 6224 2000
