Prayer for Pope Francis
O God, faithful rewarder of souls,
grant that your departed servant Pope Francis,
whom you made successor of Peter
and shepherd of your Church,
may happily enjoy for ever in your presence in heaven
the mysteries of your grace and compassion,
which he faithfully ministered on earth.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.
Amen

FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents and Caregivers
Welcome Back to a New School Term!
Welcome to the start of a new school term! We hope everyone had a restful and refreshing break. It has been wonderful to see our students returning with such energy, enthusiasm, and readiness to learn.
This term promises to be full of exciting opportunities, new challenges, and memorable moments. Our teachers have been busy preparing engaging lessons and experiences to inspire a love of learning in every child. We also have a range of events, activities, and initiatives planned to enrich the school experience and foster a strong sense of community.
A special welcome to all new families joining us this term — we are thrilled to have you as part of our Liwara family. We look forward to partnering with you throughout your child's learning journey.
As always, communication between home and school is vital. Please keep an eye on the Newsletter, Seesaw, the Liwara School Facebook page and the P&F Facebook page for updates, important dates, and celebrations of student achievements.
I will be on leave from Monday 5 May through to Friday 30 May with a dozen other principals from WA and anothe 20 pilgrims from around Australia and overseas participating in a Catholic pilgrimage in Japan where we will be journying through Japan drawing strength from the saints and martyrs whose witness has shaped the faith of this fascinating country. We are preparing for a blessed encounter with a land and people of mysterious and unspeakable beauty, accompannied by a Catholic priest as chaplain. Ms Angela Leddin will be in the role of Short Term principal in my absence.
Let’s make this term one where every student feels challenged, supported, and proud of what they achieve. Here’s to a wonderful start!
Columbarium for All Saints Parish
I have recently received communication from Fr Elver regarding a columbarium which is being built next to the church. This information was included in the parish bulletin last week. Colgan Industries a local Greenwood company that built the Parish Centre has been engaged for this project. Fr Elver wanted me to inform all families that once the build begins there will be a bit of disruption along the front side of the church going to the school walk path and once the build begins this part of the church will not be passable. The build will be starting on Monday 5 May and will take approximately three months to complete. The capital cost to build the walls, Chapelette, four benches, an ornamental fountain, and new pavement is fully covered by private donations. The Parish will subsequently buy brass plaques to cover the niches. A small fee will be charged for those who wish to secure a niche. The fee will pay for the engraved brass plaque and fixtures. Enquiries: Eric Jas (eric.jas@atteris.com or 0403-024-802).
The location of the project will be immediately east of the church building
The columbarium will comprise four small walls with niches that can contain urns that hold the ashes of deceased parishioners.
Each wall will contain 32 niches.

CHILDREN'S LITURGY VOLUNTEERS - PARENT HELPERS NEEDED
We're seeking parent volunteers to join our All Saints Greenwood parish children’s liturgy team! We need extra helpers to support our group leaders in supervising young children during the Sunday 9:30am Mass children’s liturgy sessions. Typically, we ask for a commitment of just one Sunday per term. Volunteers will need to secure a Working With Children check, and we’re happy to assist you with the process. If you’d like to get involved, we’d love to have you—please text Bianca at 0418 986 893 to sign up!
