Dear Parents and Caregivers
Staff Changes
It is with sadness that we say goodbye to Mrs Fiona Kranz who has been working in the Office Thursday morning and Friday. Her last day is today, Friday, 30 May. Mrs Kranz has decided to accept 4 days a week working at her other school, which suits her and her family. We thank Mrs Kranz for being such a positive, bright presence in our school and wish her all the best for the future.
Cross Country
Well done to our all students for trying their hardest. Mr Sanders has a very positive message to share with students on Cross Country Day:
Run/Walk/Skip with a smile!
You don’t have to be great to start,
Just start and you will be great!
Mr Sanders managed to work around the rain showers and the children did have a smile on their faces. Thank you to Mr Sanders and the staff for organising and supporting this wonderful fitness day. The Interschool Cross Country will be held on Friday, 20 June.
Communion Masses
Our Year 4 classes and Catechist children are continuing their sacramental preparation. They will have a Retreat run by 24:7 Ministry on Tuesday, 10 June. The Communion Masses will be spread over 2 weekends: 14 & 15 June, 21 & 22 June. The children and their families will then nominate a Mass to attend to collect their certificates on the weekend of 28 & 29 June.
School Photos
Our School Photos will be held on Wednesday, 18 and Thursday 19 June. We alternate terms for our school photos so we capture students in their Summer and then Winter school uniforms. More information will be sent out via Seesaw.
Puzzle Club
Mrs McCabe is running Puzzle Club on a Monday after school and she organised the inaugural Family Puzzle Afternoon last Sunday. It was very well attended and everyone was busy, heads down, solving puzzles. Mrs McCabe is preparing the children for the State Jigsaw Puzzle Competition on Saturday, 21 June.

CLASSROOM NEWS
KINDERGARTEN NEWS
What a great start to Term Two in Kindy! We have been very busy listening to timeless tales, improving our numeracy skills and beginning our phonics journey by listening to sounds in the environment.
The Three Little Pigs Adventure
This term, the children explored the timeless tale of The Three Little Pigs. Through storytelling, role-playing, and creative arts, the kids immersed themselves in this charming story.
We read and discussed the story of The Three Little Pigs, encouraging the children to think about the characters' choices and the beginning, middle and end of the story. The child enjoyed acting out the story with story stones, masks, puppets and small world scenes.
We also crafted scenes from the story, enhancing the children's creativity and fine motor skills.
Number Fun: Ordering Numbers to 10
Our young learners grew their numeracy skills with a focus on ordering numbers from 1 to 10.
We used number lines to help visualise the sequence of numbers, allowing children to practice ordering and comparing. We love using different materials to engage in number games to gain a solid understanding of number order and value.
Listening to Environmental Sounds
This term, we also emphasised the importance of listening and being aware of our surroundings. By tuning into environmental sounds, children developed essential auditory skills.
We took walks around the school grounds wearing our giant listening ears, listening to and identifying different sounds like birds chirping, wind rustling through leaves, and distant traffic.
The children played games where they matched sounds with corresponding objects, enhancing their ability to differentiate and recognise various sounds.
We are delighted with the progress and enthusiasm the children have shown this term. We have so much more happening this term, including a ‘Very Hungry Caterpillar’ dress up day, Pyjama Day, Creepy Crawly incursion and so much more!

Liwara Faction Cross Country
Last Friday, students battled the cold and the rain putting their best foot forward in the Cross Country. The runners pushed themselves to finish each race as high as possible either walking, running or a mix of both to help their faction earn points! It was great to see the students striving to achieve their very best. After some close finishes and occasionally some confusion, it was Teangi who ended on top! Well done to everyone on your amazing achievement!
Thank you so much to the parents who supported in the lead up and assisted or cheered on the day. We really appreciate it!

If you’d like to get involved, we’d love to have you—please text Bianca at 0418 986 893 to sign up!

PARISH YOUTH MINISTRY NEWS
TUESDAY 13TH MAY
Last week at 24:7 Greenwood, we had an incredible night filled with games, fellowship, fun, and faith. The evening kicked off with card games and time to connect, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere before we moved into our group games.
We introduced a brand-new game called Colour Tap, which brought lots of energy and excitement, followed by a crowd favourite—Spoons—which had everyone laughing and fully engaged.
We were also blessed to be joined by the amazing Mark De Silva, who shared a powerful and thought-provoking message on the topic "We Are What We Eat." Mark reminded us that it's not only the food we consume that shapes us, but also the media, conversations, and influences we allow into our lives. He encouraged us to be mindful of what we feed our minds and hearts, emphasizing that as Temples of the Holy Spirit, we have a responsibility to care for both our bodies and our thoughts. In doing so, we are better able to experience true freedom in Christ.
NEXT YOUTH GROUP
Join us next week as we continue exploring our term theme, Freedom in Christ. This session will focus on finding freedom through our relationships and discovering how we can witness Christ in the way we relate to others. It promises to be another meaningful and engaging night.

God bless,
Jesse and Lucy
